The world in shambles;

Universities are no longer communities of those who live from, for and with a view to knowledge (universitas magistrorum et scholarium), but agents of the state certifying certain skills as approved by them in power, and eliminating anybody from certifications if they provide undesired skills and have undesired knowledge for them in power, regardless if said undesired skills and knowledge are actually good for the world, humanity and the environment.

Universities, and education in general, are mostly tools of "official science". Which pours over society, but especially over the economy, real sophistic pearls, extremely refined, but no less fallacious, toxic and highly damaging, however mandatory.

According to which, for example, it is natural to take money from each person's pocket to give as subsidies to some companies (of their own). In the name of some ecological desiderata, for example.

Or in the name of “food safety” or cyber security.

It doesn't really matter what it is about, the mechanism is the same: the "hard" established approved sciences describe a worrying, potentially fatal reality (that if necessary to be proven can be created urgently, or the impression of it in Hollywood stile). But they stop here. What follows is similar every time, but it comes from a different area than science, namely from millenarian religious rhetoric, heavily supported by mass media propaganda government and corporations sponsored.

- Apocalyptic speech (we die if we don't do x!) - call to action (to the new "crusade")

- fundraising for a "higher purpose".

In the role of crusaders we now have "activists".

People from the "jet set world" (or aspiring to such status), but who no longer inherit anything from their parents with troubled youth (well, the famous 68... OK Boomer generation) and then haunted over by loans they took to access the Jet Set Status, so to pay them they will say and do anything required by the demons in chief reigning over politicians, banks, corporations and... activists.
